My Slow Fashion Lifestyle Diary

How do you choose to buy a certain garment?
Because let me tell you something: if you buy a pair of trousers from an ethical brand and you wear those trousers only once or twice before throwing them away..well, that is not ethical at all.
Ethical brands are definitely more expensive and unfortunately not really for everyone..at least I thought so.
If this is your thought, but you still want to live a slow fashion lifestyle, you can start changing the way you buy things and I’m pretty sure in the end you’ll be able to afford one or two pieces from those ethical brands too..trust me.
So, here’s what you should ask yourself before buying next time (at least this is what helped me move away from fast fashion)
- Do I really need it? Or do I want to buy it out of boredom, only because it’s on sale or as a stress relief?
- Can I style it with something I already own? Am I able to create two or three looks with pieces already in my wardrobe?
- Can I wear it across different seasons?
- Can it adapt to my body during the day? For example, after a big lunch?
- Will I still be happy with it in a year? Or is it only a now-trend?

Important conclusion: how much is the real cost per wear?Just answer all those questions and find out how many times you can wear it.
Most of the time an ‘expensive’ item becomes cheaper than the ‘cheap’ one.
