Sustainability

Lunatic_pin is a Sheffield-based, owner-operated slow fashion brand. Every garment is handmade to order by one person, Lisa, in a Sheffield studio. This page sets out what Lunatic_pin does (and doesn't claim) when it comes to sustainability.

Made to Order - No Overproduction

Nothing is made until a customer orders it. There is no warehouse of unsold stock, no end-of-season clearance pile, and no surplus pushed to landfill. Made-to-order is one of the most effective ways a small brand can reduce waste, and it is the foundation of how Lunatic_pin operates.

SaveTheWaste - Studio Off cuts, Not Landfill

The SaveTheWaste collection is Lunatic_pin's dedicated zero-waste initiative. Every piece is made entirely from studio off cuts and leftover fabrics - material that would otherwise go to waste. Each item is one-of-a-kind and will never be reproduced. No brand can claim to be fully zero-waste, but SaveTheWaste is a genuine, ongoing effort to get as close as possible.

Materials

Lunaticpin uses cotton, polyviscose, and polycotton — sourced from established UK suppliers Lisa has worked with for years. Fabrics are selected for comfort, durability, and quality rather than trend cycles.

Inclusive Sizing - Sustainability Through Longevity

Lunaticpin offers sizing from XS to 3XL (UK 2–28), with the option to send exact measurements for a fully custom fit. Clothes that fit well get worn. Clothes that get worn don't get thrown away. Inclusive sizing is part of the sustainability equation.

One Person. No Factory.

There are no factories, no outsourced production, and no supply chain opacity. Every garment is made by Lisa. That means full visibility over how clothes are made, who makes them, and under what conditions.

What Lunatic_pin Doesn't Claim

Lunatic_pin does not claim to be a fully zero-waste brand. No brand (or person) genuinely is. What it does claim is honest effort: made-to-order production, studio offcut reuse, and a commitment to slow fashion over fast consumption.
